Use a Quiescenza like that! Inside Bach - C Major Prelude BWV 939 C Major

What is one of the best ways to start a composition?

Knowing how to begin a composition or improvisation can make a significant difference, and often, choosing the most effective opening gambit is not easy – there are many aspects to consider all at once!

One of the best ways is the Quiescenza, a pattern that is structured as a 1st-degree pedal over which a structural melody singing Fa Fab Re Mi Fa stands out.

This type of Quiescenza is what I call Long Quiescenza, as it is formed by 5 phases.

There is also another type of Quiescenza that I call Short Quiescenza, formed only by four phases: Do Re Mi Fa.

In this video, you will learn directly from J. S. Bach how to start your own composition or improvisation with Long Quiescenza, analyzing J. S. Bach's Prelude BWV 939 in C Major.

You will discover how to use the sequence of syllables Fa Fab Re Mi Fa and understand how Solmisation is an extremely useful and precious tool that can help you memorize specific melodic patterns to recall to your mind like magical spells!
